On 2nd July 2025, the leadership of AGI Women in Business (AGI-WIB) met with executives of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) at the bank’s head office in Accra to present a bold and visionary proposal for partnership aimed at transforming women-led enterprises across Ghana.
The highly engaging meeting brought together two institutions with shared values — both celebrating over 60 years of impact — and a mutual commitment to inclusive growth, particularly in agribusiness and Ghana’s emerging 24-hour economy.
Dr. Mrs. Grace Amey-Obeng, Founder and Chair of AGI-WIB, stressed the importance of women’s well-being and sustainable enterprise development. “Our model is rooted in the triangle of balance — the woman, the enterprise, and the environment. When these are aligned, she thrives,” she stated.
ADB leadership, equally inspired, shared plans to establish a dedicated Women’s Desk and design tailored financial products for female entrepreneurs. “We are excited about the synergy. It’s not just about financial solutions — it’s about building a lasting legacy with women at the centre,” said a bank representative.
AGI-WIB proposed a three-year partnership with ADB as lead sponsor, with an annual support of GHS 500,000. The initiative seeks to empower over 1,000 women-led businesses each year through access to financing, mentorship, incubation, acceleration, policy advocacy, and real market linkages.
The meeting laid the foundation for what both parties described as a “win-win collaboration,” one that will change the narrative for women in business and drive sustainable growth across sectors nationwide.
