AGI and Swisscontact Partner to Accelerate Ghana’s Energy Transition

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and Swisscontact have signed a strategic partnership agreement to drive key interventions in Ghana’s energy sector. This collaboration aims to enhance decarbonization efforts, develop renewable energy skills, and improve investment readiness for sustainable energy adoption.

The signing ceremony, held at AGI’s conference room, brought together representatives from both organizations. Swisscontact’s delegation was led by Country Director Rajiv Pradhan, with key team members including Projects and Partnerships Officers Stephanie Lartey and Efua Esirifi Aidoo, Communications and Project Officer Eugene Masiku, Project and MRM Officer Araba Ampomah, and Junior Professional Officer Nastasia Gulfo. Representing AGI were CEO Seth Twum-Akwaboah, Director of Research and Policy John Defor, Marketing and Project Officer Isaac Kofi Batini, and Technical Expert Kofi Anim Ayeko.

Key Areas of Collaboration

Expanding carbon accounting training, including Scope 3 emissions.

Developing a network of certified Carbon Accounting Experts to support businesses in meeting sustainability targets.


2️⃣ Renewable Energy Skills Development

Addressing workforce gaps through specialized training programs.

Incorporating digital and AI-driven solutions to equip professionals for the green economy.


3️⃣ Investment Readiness Support

Assisting businesses with third-party feasibility assessments at discounted rates.

Facilitating access to resources that promote renewable energy adoption.


This partnership marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s transition to sustainable energy, reinforcing AGI’s commitment to industrial growth while ensuring environmental responsibility. The agreement was signed by AGI’s CEO and Swisscontact’s Country Director, with Swisscontact’s West Africa Director, Ulrich Stucki, and AGI-ESC Chief Technical Officer, Bärbel Freyer, serving as witnesses.
