The maiden edition of the AGI Eastern, Volta & Oti (EVO) Branch Conversation4Action Dialogue Series was held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Eastern Premier Hotel in Koforidua. It delved on the 2025 budget statement of the government and had the theme “Navigating the Fiscal Landscape: Strategic Investment Opportunities & Challenges in the 2025 Budget for Industry.” The breakfast meeting brought together industry representatives, academia and key stakeholders in the Eastern region with the Hon. Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, Eastern Regional Minister, as Guest of Honour.
Dr. Jamal Mohammed, Senior Lecturer Economics Department at the Koforidua Technical Univrrsity and Executive Director with the Africa Development & Resources Research Institute (ADRRI) who was the lead discussant, took participants through the budget highlighting, its opportunities and challenges. The meeting was chaired by Nana Ansah Prem IV Chief of Akosombo and Project Director of the GoodRoll Company ,producers of paper products from bamboo.
The meeting concluded with an Open Forum and Networking Session, allowing member organizations to address pertinent issues relevant to their fields and explore collaborative solutions for improvement. Additionally, some members had the opportunity to showcase their products to the audience.
