AGI Engages Tema West MCE on Deteriorating Roads in Industrial Enclave

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has held a high-level meeting with the Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, Ludwig Teye Totimeh, to deliberate on urgent measures to address the deteriorating road conditions within the Tema West Industrial Enclave.

During the engagement, the Director of Policy and Research at AGI, John Defor, who led the delegation indicated that the critical impact of poor road infrastructure on industrial productivity, noting that the situation is expected to worsen with the onset of the rainy season.

Key industry players, including Kasapreko PLC, Polytank GH Ltd, and DPS Industries, highlighted significant operational challenges. These include production delays, increased logistics and maintenance costs, and the inability to meet delivery timelines, largely attributed to the deplorable state of the road network.

In addition to infrastructure concerns, persistent water shortages were identified as a major constraint, further undermining production efficiency across the enclave.

The Municipal Assembly Chief Executive acknowledged the concerns raised and assured stakeholders of its commitment to addressing the road challenges while engaging relevant authorities to resolve the water supply issues.

AGI reaffirmed its commitment to continuous industrial advocacy for improved infrastructure, recognizing its vital role in enhancing industrial growth, competitiveness, and overall economic development.
