The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), through its Energy Service Centre, yesterday successfully hosted the Sustainable Energy B2B Expo 2026 at the College of Physicians & Surgeons in Accra under the theme: “Powering Industry Through Sustainable Energy.”
The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, development partners, innovators, financial institutions, and renewable energy experts to discuss practical pathways for accelerating Ghana’s transition towards clean, affordable, and reliable energy solutions for industry.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Ing. Seth Mahu, Director of Renewable Energy and Green Transition, highlighted the urgent need for industries to adopt sustainable energy solutions to remain competitive in the global market. He stressed that energy remains a major production cost for businesses and underscored government’s commitment to creating enabling policies that support renewable energy adoption, energy efficiency, e-mobility, and private sector participation in Ghana’s green transition agenda.
President of AGI, Pharm. Kofi Nsia-Poku noted that sustainable energy is no longer optional but central to Ghana’s industrial transformation and economic growth. He explained that the AGI Energy Service Centre was established to support industries with technical guidance, energy efficiency solutions, and renewable energy integration. He further called for stronger policy incentives, affordable financing, and faster implementation of the national net metering programme to encourage businesses to invest in solar energy systems.
The Expo also featured remarks from key partners, including representatives from GIZ, Swisscontact, UN Global Compact Network Ghana, ClimateWorks Foundation, Catalonia Trade & Investment, AHK Ghana, and the Energy Commission. Speakers emphasised the importance of collaboration, innovation, financing, skills development, and policy support in driving Ghana’s sustainable energy future.
Participants engaged in exhibitions, networking sessions, innovation think tanks, and solution-focused discussions aimed at connecting businesses with sustainable energy providers and investment opportunities. The event further highlighted emerging opportunities in solar energy, energy-efficient buildings, electric mobility, climate-smart technologies, and green industrial development.
The Sustainable Energy B2B Expo reaffirmed AGI’s commitment to supporting industries in adopting cleaner and more efficient energy solutions while strengthening Ghana’s position in the global green economy.
