What AGI does — and why it’s valuable

Who We Are

  • AGI is a long-established not-for-profit business association, started in 1957 / incorporated in 1958, by Ghanaian manufacturers.
  • It represents a broad cross-section of industries and service providers — from SMEs to large companies — across many sectors: agriculture/agro-processing, manufacturing, ICT, pharmaceuticals, construction, textiles, export/import, energy, etc.
  • Its services include policy advocacy (working with government on regulations, taxes, industrial policy), business services (trade fairs, exhibitions, trade promotion, business matchmaking, capacity building and training), and research & market intelligence to help businesses plan and compete.
  • For a typical business — especially a local SME — being part of AGI can give access to networks, market information, export opportunities, participation in trade fairs, visibility under “Made-in-Ghana” push, and possibly influence on policy via collective representation.
