The Accra Branch of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), led by Chairman Mr. Tsonam Cleanse Akpeloo, embarked on an industrial visit dubbed “Familiarization Tour” today to DVIS Industrial Ltd and Everpack Ghana Ltd.
The visit aimed to engage with company leaders, gather valuable insights into industrial operations and understand the challenges faced by these companies.
During the tour, the leaders of the companies raised concerns regarding the multiplicity of taxes, particularly the high Value Added Tax (VAT) on products and heavy import duties. These taxes were highlighted as significant factors that contribute to increased production costs, ultimately affecting the profitability of their businesses.
Both DVIS Industrial Ltd and Everpack Ghana Ltd emphasized their capacity to expand production and create more jobs, provided there are adequate incentives and support for their operations. The company leaders expressed optimism that with the right policies in place, they could enhance their contributions to the economy.
In response to the concerns raised, Mr Akpeloo assured the company leaders that AGI is committed to channelling their concerns to the appropriate government quarters. This reaffirmed the AGI’s dedication to supporting the business community and fostering a conducive environment for industrial growth.
The familiarization tour serves as a testament to the AGI’s ongoing efforts to engage with industry stakeholders, ensure their voices are heard, and work towards resolving issues that hinder business growth in Ghana.
