Some executives of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) held a high-level meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Addison and his team at Bank of Ghana (BoG). The meeting which was at the instance of the BoG created the platform for mutual dialogue and discussions on various economic and financial matters impacting the Ghanaian economy.

The Governor shared insights on the central bank’s current monetary policy stance and considerations in making policy decisions. He also addressed concerns regarding currency stability and exchange rates and some of the compelling factors that necessitated the debt re-structuring and the IMF programme.

Leading the AGI delegation, the AGI President, Dr. Humphrey Ayim Darke expressed the Association’s views on interest rates, liquidity conditions, and its impact on investment and borrowing. The delegation also highlighted their perspectives on credit facility, lending conditions, multiplicity of taxes and challenges faced by businesses in accessing financing.
