The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) welcomed a 10-member delegation of Chinese industrialists led by Professor Zhao Haoxing, Dean of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Research Institute at Zhejiang Gongshang University and Founder of China-Africa Bridge, during a business exchange visit to the AGI Secretariat.
The delegation was received by Mr. Tsonam Akpeloo, Chairman of the AGI Accra Regional Branch. The visit marked another significant milestone in the growing collaboration between China-Africa Bridge and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Research Institute of Zhejiang Gongshang University to strengthen economic, educational, scientific, and industrial cooperation between Ghana and China.
The engagement builds on previous initiatives, including the successful “Ghana Day” event held in Hangzhou and the establishment of the Ghana–Hangzhou Economic and Trade Cooperation Centre, both aimed at deepening bilateral trade and investment relations.
The partnership seeks to facilitate the entry of Chinese brands into the Ghanaian market while promoting Ghanaian products and specialty goods in China. It also aims to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development opportunities for Ghanaian youth through knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships.
A key outcome of the discussions was the proposal to establish an Entrepreneurship and Industrial Innovation Hub in Ghana. The hub will serve as a platform for sharing Chinese industrial expertise, transferring technology and best practices, promoting skills development, and supporting the growth of Ghanaian entrepreneurs and industries through innovation-driven collaboration.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to building sustainable partnerships that will drive industrial development, enhance trade and investment, and create new opportunities for businesses in both Ghana and China.
