The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), in partnership with the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), organised a two-day SME training programme in Kumasi and Sunyani on 23rd and 24th July 2026.

Led by the AGI President, Pharm. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, and the CEO, Mr. Seth Twum-Akwaboah, the training focused on bookkeeping, financial management and corporate governance, with resource persons from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) facilitating the sessions.

More than 60 AGI members participated in the Kumasi session, while about 40 members took part in Sunyani. Both sessions were highly interactive, with participants actively engaging the facilitators through questions, discussions and practical experiences.

MASLOC also used the opportunity to introduce its various financial support programmes, including the Tricycle (Aboboyaa) Hire Purchase Scheme, aimed at helping SMEs access financing to support and expand their businesses.

During the Kumasi programme, the AGI President and CEO also engaged the Regional Executive Committee to discuss issues affecting businesses and industrial development in the Bono Region.

The initiative reinforces AGI’s commitment to building the capacity of SMEs, improving business management practices and connecting members with relevant financial and institutional support for sustainable growth.

Overall, the programme is in line with the vision of the AGI President to strengthen the capacity and competitiveness of SMEs and create an enabling environment for their growth and development.
