The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has officially opened the 2026 Industrial Summit and Exhibition with a grand tape-cutting ceremony at the Underbridge Annex.
The three-day summit, which brings together industry leaders, policymakers, regulators, development partners and other key stakeholders, will feature conferences, exhibitions and panel discussions centred on the theme: “Driving Sustainable Export-Led Growth through Energy Reliability and Digital Innovation.”
In his keynote welcome address, AGI President, Pharm. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, said the theme speaks directly to the competitiveness and long-term growth of Ghanaian industry.
He commended government for efforts to expand generation capacity and improve grid infrastructure across the country, but stressed the need for continued engagement between industry, government and regulators on energy tariffs.
The opening ceremony also featured remarks and addresses from a distinguished line-up of public- and private-sector leaders, including Ing. Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo, CEO of the Volta River Authority (VRA); Mr. Bernard Appiah Gyebi, CEO of UBA Ghana; H.E. Rune Skinnebach, EU Ambassador; the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr Anthony Kwesi Sarpong (GRA); Dr. Philip Abradu-Otoo, Economist at the Bank of Ghana; Sampson Ahi, Deputy Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MOTAI); and Dr. Ishmael Nii Dodoo, Chief Partnership Officer of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, who served as Special Guest.
