The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), under the Nkabom Collaborative, is participating in the African Food Systems Forum (AFSF) 2026, currently underway at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda.
The Forum, Africa’s premier annual platform for advancing the transformation of the continent’s agriculture and food systems, brings together policymakers, private-sector leaders, development partners, farmers, entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders to explore solutions for building more productive, resilient and inclusive food systems.
The opening ceremony, held yesterday, featured the Special Guest of Honour, Right Honourable Dr Justin Nsengiyumva, Prime Minister of Rwanda.
Other distinguished guests included Mr Amath Pathe Sene, Managing Director of AFSF; Hon. Dr Telesphore Ndabamenye, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources of Rwanda; H.E. Moses Vilakat, Commissioner, ARBE/African Union Commission; Ms Gerardine Mukeshimana, Vice President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); H.E. Hailemariam Dessalegn, Chair of the AGRA Board and Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia; and Hon. John Dumelo, MP for Ayawaso West and Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industries, Ghana.
Held under the theme, “Investing in Africa’s Agri-Food Systems: Nourishing Nations, Growing Jobs, Building Resilience,” the Forum highlights the critical role of investment, innovation and partnerships in creating sustainable opportunities across Africa’s food and agriculture value chains.
As part of AGI’s participation, two SMEs supported through the Nkabom Collaborative are exhibiting at the Forum: Mushplus Agri-Foods Limited, producers of mushroom-based food products, and Agromine Industries Ltd, which operates in cassava processing and value addition.
The Nkabom booth also received a special visit from Hon. John Dumelo, MP for Ayawaso West and Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industries, who engaged with the exhibitors and explored the innovative solutions being showcased by Ghanaian businesses.
Through its participation, AGI continues to create platforms for Ghanaian SMEs to connect with international markets, build partnerships and showcase Ghanaian innovation to a wider African audience.
