AGI National Council Retreat 2025 – Day 1 Wraps Up on a High Note

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) kicked off its 2025 National Council Retreat on February 20, 2025, at the La Beach Hotel, under the theme “Resuscitating Industry to Spur Growth, Fiscal Balance, and Job Creation.” Dr. Humphrey Kwesi Ayim-Darke, the President of AGI welcomed Council members and invited guests to the Council Retreat.

 

The first day featured insightful presentations from esteemed speakers, including:  

 

– Mr. Samuel Munzele Maimbo, Vice President at the World Bank, who engaged industry leaders on his vision for the private sector as he vies for the presidency of the African Development Bank (AfDB) this year.  

– Mr. Felix Addo, President of the *Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA).  

– A representative from Exim Bank, who highlighted opportunities within the bank and how the private sector can benefit.  

– Dr. Stephane Nwolley, CEO of Npontu Technologies Ltd., who emphasized the importance of leveraging an AGI database, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), to drive growth in the IT sector.  

 

With these engaging discussions setting the tone, Day 2 promises an even more thought-provoking exchange as Council members prepare to engage with policymakers and industry leaders.
