AGI & Bank of Ghana Host Sensitisation Workshop on Borrowers and Lenders Act

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), in collaboration with the Bank of Ghana’s Collateral Registry, has successfully organised a sensitisation workshop on the Borrowers and Lenders Act, 2020 (Act 1052) at Alisa Hotel in Accra.

AGI President, Pharma Kofi Nsiah-Poku stressed on the role of macroeconomic stability in improving lending conditions and strengthening Ghana’s credit landscape.

Chairperson of the Women in Business Chapter, Dr. Grace Amey-Obeng, highlighted the critical importance of access to finance for SMEs, stressing the need for clear regulations, accountability, and compliance.

Head of the Collateral Registry at the Bank of Ghana, Mr. Fred Asiamah Koranteng, noted that while credit is essential for business growth, it remains a major challenge for many enterprises.

The workshop sought to deepen understanding of the Act, promote responsible lending practices, and strengthen collaboration between industry and regulators.
