AGI in Collaboration with GSA Organizes the 8th Entrepreneurial Knowledge Forum

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Accra Regional Branch, in collaboration with the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), has held the 8th edition of its 8th Entrepreneurial Knowledge Forum (EKF) in Accra.

The forum, hosted at the GSA premises at Okponglo today April 14, brought together over 120 industry players to deepen understanding of standards compliance and its critical role in business growth and international competitiveness.

Delivering the opening address, Director-General of GSA, Prof. George Agyei, underscored the Authority’s commitment to supporting businesses beyond regulatory enforcement. He noted that GSA provides essential services, including testing, certification, and technical advisory, to enable Ghanaian products to meet global standards.

Participants were taken through comprehensive presentations by various GSA departments on product certification processes, quality assurance systems, metrology, testing protocols, and regulatory compliance frameworks. They also expressed appreciation to AGI for its strong leadership in industry engagement and capacity building.

In his keynote address, the Accra Regional Chairman of AGI, Tsonam Akpeloo, emphasized the growing importance of standards in today’s highly competitive and regulated global market.

He stressed that adherence to standards is no longer optional but a fundamental requirement for businesses seeking to scale, remain compliant, and access high-value markets.

Mr. Akpeloo further noted that the EKF was strategically designed to bridge knowledge gaps among members, particularly those with limited understanding of standards and their practical application. He encouraged participants to actively engage experts, seek clarity, and leverage the knowledge gained to strengthen their operations and enhance long-term business resilience.

The AGI Entrepreneurial Knowledge Forum forms part of the AGI Accra branch’s efforts to equip Ghanaian industries with the tools andknowledge required to thrive in both local and international markets.
