The launch which took place at the AMA main auditorium was addressed by Mr Tsonam Akpeloo, Accra Regional Chair of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).
Mr Akpeloo applauded MTN for such a positive initiative to celebrate SMEs because they play a key role in the growth and development of Ghana’s economy. He stated “It is estimated that SMEs form about 90 per cent of businesses in the country. They also provide about 80 per cent of the country’s total employment and account for 60 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP)”.
He pledged AGI’s utmost support for the lineup programmes for the month and requested that MTN support SMEs with relevant digital tools to scale up their businesses while leading the drive for digital and financial inclusion.
