AGI Annual Retreat Opens with Renewed Strategic Focus

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has commenced its Annual Retreat at the Alisa Hotel, bringing together key executive and council members to plan for the year and chart a clear and results-driven strategic direction for the year ahead.

Opening the retreat, the President of AGI warmly welcomed the executive members and pointed out the importance of unified leadership at what he described as a pivotal moment for Ghana’s industrial sector. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the Association’s core mandate and ensuring that AGI delivers measurable and actionable outcomes for its members.

Outlining his priorities for the year, the President announced an ambitious membership drive aimed at recruiting 1,000 new members annually. He noted that expanding AGI’s membership base would enhance the Association’s influence, deepen industry representation, and strengthen private sector advocacy nationwide.

He also revealed plans to initiate the development of a permanent AGI Secretariat building, describing the project as a critical institutional milestone that will reinforce the Association’s long-term sustainability and operational capacity.

A key focus of the retreat is positioning AGI strategically within the government’s proposed 24-hour economy framework. The President emphasized that the policy presents significant opportunities for industrial expansion, increased productivity, and job creation. He encouraged executives to guide member companies in leveraging the initiative to scale operations and improve competitiveness.

On regulatory matters, he announced plans for strengthened engagement with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) regarding new tax legislation. According to him, constructive collaboration will be essential to ensure that emerging tax reforms support industrial growth and reflect the realities of Ghanaian businesses.

The Annual Retreat is expected to deliberate on strategic planning priorities, policy advocacy, membership growth, and practical interventions designed to deliver tangible value to AGI members and reinforce the Association’s role as the leading voice of the industry in Ghana.
