AGI CEO Speaks at the West African Consortium Launch.

The CEO of the Association of Ghana Industries, Seth Twum-Akwaboah, delivered a keynote address at the launch and fundraising ceremony of the West African Fashion Consortium (WAFC) and creative industry growth held on March 24, 2026, at the Lancaster Accra Hotel.

Speaking under the theme “Uniting the Creative Value Chain: Together We Rise,” the CEO described the initiative as a transformative step toward positioning Ghana as a global hub for African-inspired fashion.

“We must close the gap between creativity and commerce and position Ghanaian fashion talents as global players,” he stated.

He reiterated AGI’s commitment to the garment and textile sector, highlighting AGI’S contribution towards the extension of the zero VAT policy on textiles to 2028 and ongoing advocacy to protect local designs from unfair competition.

WAFC President Mrs Awurabena Okrah called for stronger collaboration with AGI’s garment sector and government, urging support through CSR, partnerships, and policy alignment.

The event ended with a fashion show and product exhibition, showcasing the vibrancy of Ghana’s creative industry.
