The Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. Seth Twum-Akwaboah, together with senior management, received the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Hilton John Mitchell, and a high-level delegation for strategic trade discussions.
The delegation included representatives from Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce and the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, as well as private sector leaders in distribution and logistics.
Discussions focused on activating the 2024 MoU between AGI and Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) and moving from dialogue to tangible outcomes, including joint ventures, co-manufacturing, structured B2B engagements, and measurable trade transactions.
Priority sectors highlighted:
* Agro-processing
* Food & beverage manufacturing
* Cosmetics & shea butter processing
* Cashew & cocoa value addition
* Co-manufacturing and bottling partnerships
The engagement emphasized leveraging Ghana’s raw material strength and market access under the African Continental Free Trade Area, alongside Trinidad & Tobago’s expertise in industrial processing and manufacturing.
AGI reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing members across 23 sectors to ensure effective business matchmaking ahead of the proposed Trinidad & Tobago trade mission to Ghana. Key issues addressed also included logistics efficiency, shelf-life for exports, regulatory clarity, and development-focused financing to scale industrial growth.
