AGI Organises Policy Formulation Dialogue to Deepen Public-Private Collaboration

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has convened a high-level stakeholder engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration between government and industry in policy formulation, particularly within Ghana’s food and beverage sectors.

The dialogue, held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Accra Marriott Hotel in Accra, brought together policymakers, regulators, and industry players under the theme “Strengthening Public-Private Dialogue in Policy Formulation.”

In his opening address, the President of AGI acknowledged signs of recovery within Ghana’s macroeconomic environment over the past year, noting that the gradual improvement is beginning to positively impact businesses.

“Over the past year, Ghana’s macroeconomic environment has shown signs of improvement, and this is generally having a positive effect on business operations,” he stated. “However, we remain concerned about recent geopolitical developments involving the United States, Israel, and Iraq, which have the potential to disrupt global supply chains and affect the progress we have begun to see.”

He emphasized that AGI remains committed to engaging the government on proactive measures to mitigate any potential external shocks to local industries.

Also present, representing their various institutions were Mr. Kwabena Appau, Head of Excise and Tax at the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr. Ebo Quayson, Director for Special Economic Zones Development at the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, as well as Madam Nora Tackie Teralabie, Director of Regional Operations from the Food and Drugs Board Authority.
