The President of CIRIP Visits the AGI National Secretariat

The President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Pharm. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, hosted the President of the Chartered Institute of Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners (CIRIP), Felix Addo; Chief Executive Officer of (CIRIP), Mr. George Owodo; and Executive Secretary of (CIRIP), Petrina Quaye at the AGI National Secretariat.

The meeting focused on deepening collaboration and creating awareness among AGI members on the provisions of the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act (CIRA), which provides a structured framework for business rescue, including moratorium protections and professional restructuring support for distressed but viable companies.

Discussions also addressed the financing challenges faced by companies classified as non-performing and the need for policy flexibility to enable access to working capital during restructuring. Both institutions explored the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise their partnership, facilitate joint sensitisation programmes at AGI national and regional events, and coordinate advocacy engagements with key stakeholders.

The engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to protecting member businesses, preserving jobs, and strengthening Ghana’s industrial and manufacturing sector.
